Gods and Goddess
In Greek mythology, twelve gods and goddesses ruled the universe from the top of Greece's Mount Olympus. There was 12 main gods and goddesses: Zues, Hera, Poseidon, Demeter, Athena, Ares, Apollo, Artemis, Hermes, Aphrodite.
The Greeks believed in these gods and thought they all had a certain role and certain powers, for instances Zeus was the king of all the gods, he directed them what to do. He also could shape shift and throw lightning bolts when he needed. There is much more gods that are important as well but there was Apollo the son of Zeus, and one of his roles was to make the sun rise in the morning. In some way all of the council members were related to one another. When there was a conflict or an issue on a topic the 12 council members would come together and decide on what to do. The gods affected our world today in astronomy and the stars because if you didn't know the planets of our world today were named after the gods. |
